- Who is it for? Their name, how to say it, and who they are to you.
- What happened between you? How you met, a moment only you two get, what you love about them, one line you want them to hear.
- How should it sound? Acoustic ballad, pop, R&B, country, rock, hip-hop, jazz or a lullaby, with the mood and the voice you choose.
- Make it yours. Read the lyrics, change any word, listen to two versions of the chorus for free, and pick one.

Does it have to be a love song?
No. Pick the mood: romantic, sweet, upbeat, funny or emotional. A song for a best friend can be a funny one full of inside jokes; a song for a parent is often a warm thank-you.
